Hi,

We have a ring circuit for most of the sockets in our 3 bedroom house.

However, there is one socket downstairs which has been added as a radial circuit to the MCB. This circuit is protected by a 30amp fuse. It is wired with 4.0mm twin and earth.

As I want to extend this radial circuit by adding 2 more double sockets (rather than tap into the existing ring, which is prob. near area capacity) would it be ok to use 6.0mm twin and earth to extend this - as I can't seem to find anywhere selling 4.0mm cable.

Thanks for your help,

James.
