Hello,

Please could someone far more knowledgeable than me tell me how best to replace this rotting wooden facia board? The roof is relatively new but the board on this side def needs replacing.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

OP,
Judging by the pics your roof appears to have been badly built - remedial repairs might not work so the whole flat roof would possibly need demolishing & then re-building?

Why not post pics showing the front elevation of the extension, & pics showing the whole of the roof surface - is the flat roof shared with your neighbour?
Pics can be taken from the F/F windows or a selfie stick - no need to go on the roof.
There a zig-zag RWP crossing the roof - I assume its discharging at the front?

Are there any damp signs on the interior kitchen & back room ceilings or walls?
The mushy deck boards pushing out from near the rotting fascia is not a good sign.

Thanks for the reply. The roof is a flat fibre glass extension which is not.shared with the neighbour. There are no signs of damp etc at all. The mushy thing you mention is actually old foam filler which I badly put in a couple of years ago as although there was no leaking, I was paranoid of the gaps and that water would get in. The front of the extension is absolutely fine. I had hoped that this board could be either taken out and easily replaced or even just covered up but now im panicking that I need a complete new roof as I don't have the money for that

Why didn't the goomers replace when fitting all that lovely new roof?

Split as much as you can (knots allowing) and then fit some ply or PAR back in its place. Then clad with plastic.
