Good Afternoon,
We have recently had an extension built in order to keep costs down we are trying to do a lot of the internal finishing ourselves :-/
We have a double storey wrap around extension on a demi detached house - on the attached side we have a single storey element that is a pitched roof, below will be our dining room.
The ceiling joists in this area are 8x2 (assume pretty standard).
I would like to start insulating and celotex receommended 50mm space below roofing felt, then 150mm insulation between rafters with 12mm over rafters and then plasterboard.
As your not supposed to cut through the celotex I was wondering (maybe stupidly) where the lighting cables are supposed to run?...
Should we batten the over rafter celotex - this should allow enough space for cables and were are having normal pendants lights so no need to consider any downlight space here.
What I don't want to do is buy a ton of the 150mm celotex and wedge it into place to find that i should have run the cables above it (or something like that)
Thanks in advance.
Louise
