Extension - Neighbours against

Would a surveyor be best for taking photos etc?

Also is there any insurance I can take ot or anything

I was thinking of any existing damage to your neighbour verge or drive....stuff like that rather than structural issues on their house. An idiot likenyour neighbour may have a sunk or damaged drive who then tries claimingnit was caused by your builders lorry turning round.

Can't find it now but there is a pic on here somewhere of a splendid piece of block paving- bricks come in different shades (especially engineering bricks)- you could always use these different shades to spell out a subtle message to your neighbour. You won't see the wall...... :)

Seriously though, neighbour disputes can be a bit of a nightmare especially if you decide to sell the place in a few years time. If you are still on speaking terms, it might be worth asking them how much bribery they'd like to allow scaff on their land while the build is on- better throwing a grand at them than at a party wall surveyor, it is their land and they are allowed to refuse access for building work.
