Hi
Considering a 1.5 storey 2m x 6m extension to the side of an extended dormer bungalow.
Architect seems set on timber frame as it will meet the regs more easily in respect to insulation, i'd prefer block/brick personally especially as the extension will span the expansion gap / joint of the original extension (90's) and original building (1930's). Original building is brick and extension is brick/block. The space we will be building on is fairly limited admittedly, 2m is about as wide as we can go.
Is timber frame against a brick/block building OK or likely to move/crack with seasonal temperature changes etc? Clay soil too.
Thanks!
