My new build property has extractor fan wall plate on the outside wall that looks like the following plate
When the extractor is on the flaps open from the air created. However, that part of my wall on windy days gets badly hit by the wind and I find these flaps constantly breaking.
I’ve seen something like the following and wondering if that will work instead?

only thing with it is it’s bulk whereas the other one is more flush. Not sure if there are sturdier plates. Can anyone kindly suggest anything?
