Hi all

Today, I've converted a cable running from an outside no-named pir light which was connected via a plug, to a hard wire behind the socket together with a single external plug socket for garden utilities.

The outside socket is working, but the light isn't coming on. I've checked all the wiring and it's all neat and connected.

What else should I be looking at? Thanks

So to clarify.
*You have removed the plug from a cable to a plug-in, PIR light and now hard-wired it to a socket outlet?
*The socket works but the PIR light does not?

So what tests did you perform to prove your work was satisfactory and the cable was terminated correctly?
Was the light working prior to this alteration?
Did you protect the cable and the fitting with an adequate fuse/device?
