We have a shower room which has single brick external walls. It also has a flat roof which overlaps by 4 inches. We want to apply insulation to the outside two of the walls (50mm Celotex, polystyrene or similar) but do not know what to use as a cladding over it. Some sort of weatherproof panel perhaps. expanded ali sheet and render has been suggested but I cannot do rendering (or plastering) and would prefer to keep it as DIY. Has anyone any thoughts on this please.

Believe it or not, I have never come across PVC cladding before. Probably because my main DIY era was in the 70/8os. It will also solve another problem I have so many thanks.

Hi

I work for Kingspan Insulation and would suggest fixing our Thermawall TW55 to the external of your wall, applying a breather membrane and the a set of 25mm timber battens to create an air flow and avoid condensation issues, this can then be finished with a PVC or wooden cladding.

For more details visit our website and pick up the literature.
