Following my latest question on will I need building permission I have heared that building regs will require that the outside walls in the flat will have to be internally insulated. Can anyone tell me the procedure to do that please. (it's only a matter of interest at the moment).

Either mechanically fix or adhere insulation boards to the externally facing walls.

A typical method would be to fix timber battens, fix insulation (40mm-ish) then fix plasterboards.

Alternatively you could buy pre-insulated plasterboards and 'glue' them to the walls with either foam (foil coated insulation) or board adhesive.

It is only a requirement if it is feasible, practicable, and cost effective to do.
