The waste pipe in question (and the bit that sticks out of the wall) has an outside diameter of 43mm and I need a new Pushfit 90 degree elbow joint for it, something like this:

In fact I had a spare one that was marked as 40mm but measuring the internal diameter of the connector that goes around the pipe revealed that it was 42mm - a lot of sanding later and I managed to get it to fit but it comes off too easily for my liking. It's functional for now but not exactly sturdy!

Despite a lot of googling I just can't find a suitable pushfit elbow connector that will fit onto a pipe with a 43mm diameter.

Any ideas please?

43mm is solvent weld, which is why you’ll struggle. Push fit is 41mm. Maybe use a compression elbow?

Ah, I see. Thanks.

That explains why the old elbow never seemed to fit right and sometimes came loose (it was installed before I moved to this property).

So something like this?

In my case it's for outside use of course but I can't see how that would cause a problem.

Yep, something like that or get some solvent weld, pipe cleaner and a solvent weld elbow?

Thanks again Chris. Think I'll probably go with the compression elbow because it'll be easier to dismantle if ever required.
