Extra socket in garage. Unsure if can be done..help? anyone

Hi, the total MCB rating on the CU in the house is 146 including the 16 out to the garage and the service fuse I take it is marked 100

In the garage is a total of 22, 6 for light and 16 for the sockets.

BAS is quite correct.

Sweeney. You are just fine as you are. Just remember that the maximum total load you can pull in the garage is 16amps. That should be fine for most occasional use unless you are planning to put a lathe or lots of heating in there.

You can add more sockets without creating a "ring". Use 2.5mm² cable to add more sockets. Again, you're limited by the 16amp limit.

What is the total of the MCB ratings in your CU, and what is the rating of your service fuse?

Total MCB ratings in CU 82A

Rating of service fuse 100A
