Picked up some great points from other posts, and have put together the following plan from those which I THINK is ok, but would welcome some comment and hopefully thumbs up.....
[RCD ring main (too short)] > [ADD junction box to extend the two ring main cables by 0.5m] > [wire in an FCU with 13amp] > [two new spurs each to a double socket each approx 0.5m from FCU]
See this below in diagram form (since it doesn't quite come out as I intended - note that the ring main indicated thus || feeds from the skirting into the new Junction box and then to the FCU....with a left and right spur.
SPUR 1 <<<<<<<|NEW FCU|>>>>>>SPUR 2
||
||
||
NEW Junction Box
||

<<< SKIRTING >>>
The actual load will be:
Spur 1 - Microwave and Kettle or Coffee Machine
Spur 2 - Fridge/Freezer and Washing Machine
This is part of our new kitchen fit that I am doing myself as I can't afford the installation costs. I will be SO grateful for any feedback on this please. Thanks - Brian[/u]
