I am trying to install a bathroom extractor fan. Don't really want to drill a hole in the side of the house for the 100mm exhaust pipe. Drilling a hole in the soffit a bit tricky. I have an old flu pipe sticking out of the loft/roof. Could I connect the exhuast pipe ducting to this? Not sure if extractor fan would have enough welly to pump air upwards? Any ideas???

Does anyone know if it is ok to drill a 100mm hole in a timber framed house ie through the plastic membrane.

Any advice would be very gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

we fit vent tile terminals as part of the build design, specifically to deal with extractor fans. it is wise to wrap some insulation around the ducting also.
