I need to install a new extractor fan in my bathroom.

The replacement is double earthed and has L & N terminals.

The wiring in the wall is red, blue, yellow and bare copper.

I have had a look in the light fitting and the wires connected to it are red and blue.

What do I do? Which wires go where? What do I do with the other 2 wires?

Thanks in advance.

Extractor fans in bathrooms normally have a live supply, a switched live from the light and a neutral and earth, this should explain the extra cables, the red is probably the permanent live the blue is probably neutral and the yellow is probably the switched live (may come direct from switch). the bare wire is the earth and should have green/yellow sleeving.
Note the use of 'probably' a lot ! you need to investigate thoroughly and understand how the previous person wired it up.
If in doubt get a competent spark to take a look.
