Hi all,

Moved into a house recently with a newish kitchen installed, however the cooker hood is not connected. The hood is in place but there is a wire dangling halfway down the lenght of it towards the hob. How do I connect it to get it working?

The dangling cable is on the wrong side of the sockets in the kitchen (it would have to cross over the hob to be connected) and is nowhere near the required lenght.

ideally, you need a fused Spur next to the cooker hood, either from the Lighting Circuit or off the Ring.

If you are not willing to install a spur in an appropriate position,
then you will have to extend/install new cable from the hood to the nearest socket outlet, run in small pvc trunking.

Have you checked above the cabinets? You may find a socket/outlet up there. Doubtful as I would assume if it were that easy a job then they would have plugged it in but you never know.
