Hi all.
I am currently working for a lovely family.
Mr customer questioned the usefulness of the aco drain running around his property.
On inspection (today) it seems to not have any drainage points. It is set back from the exterior walls by an inch or so. The paving slabs in some places are only an inch below the internal flooring. The Aco rail, in many places is higher than the paving.
My customer wondered if it might be worthwhile fitting some kind of profile to deflect the water into the aco channel as it runs down the wall.
Frankly, I don't see the point if the channel doesn't doesn't drain away.
There is evidence of the painted bricks (up to about 1m) suffering from what I assume to be efflorescence.
I am set to repaint the bricks, but if the efflorescence is down to the garden height, I don't want to waste my customer's money.

I don't know if the brick spalling is down to the ground levels or not.
Advice will be gratefully accepted.
I am considering using something like DryZone rods to create a DPC. Again, I don't want to do that if it is not necessary. I have sneaking suspicion that the advice will be to lower the exterior floor, not sure that will customer will want the added expense.
Thanks in advance
