If they were so confident.. why did they feel the need to change it. The original advert was BAMEs only. but yet..They clearly are 'getting away with it'.
And as I said pages ago, I'm quietly confident that they have taken sufficient legal advice to make your opinion worthless.
You could offer your services to anyone who wishes to take action against TfL, Best of luck with that.
You do have a habit of taking issue with large organisations over their supposed illegal practices.
I suggest you set yourself up as a people's champion against such issues. Ypu appear to think you have a better understanding of these issues than a myriad of specialist legal advisors.
It isn't a job, it's a one-year scholarship.
"Transport for London (TfL) has announced an expansion of its Stuart Ross Communications Internship, which previously was open exclusively to people from ethnic minority backgrounds."
Their FOI response confirms their view that it's a non-job. But also confirms that it is exclusively for BAMEs.. (notwithstanding their later change in stance).
and of course if you read the article they reference.. they clearly missed certain key parts:
Positive action in the workplace
www.gov.uk
from sec 5
- recruiting or promoting a person solely because they have a relevant protected characteristic (without regard to the legal criteria)
- creating schemes to benefit those with a particular protected characteristic, without any evidence that the group in question is at a disadvantage or has different needs
- This is a recruitment based on protected characterstic
- they have not demonstrated that those who are BAME are disadvantaged or have different needs. It's simply that they do not seek work in that sector.
