Fantastic idea.

3rd fastest animal on earth. They need a run once a week and two 20 min walks a day to keep them in an athletic condition.
Wrong!! Corgis are 'thee' fastest dog on earth!!

Just been reading my greyhound book,,, A really interesting FACT is that the greyhound is the first ever recorded dog. Also for many centuries in medieval Europe, Greyhounds were strictly reserved for the nobility by law. Commoners were forbidden from owning them, and severe punishments protected this exclusive breed. I suspect it is still pretty similar today as the checks that I have had to go through in order to have one is incredible.

Lower-class poachers sometimes kept stealthy, dark-colored sighthounds in secret to hunt for food, risking their lives to do so

Priests and monks during the Middle Ages helped breed and protect greyhounds during famines, and some church figures were permitted to use them

Corgis are the most noble of all breeds though. You could say Corgis are royalty.....we have had Kings and Queens pamper us!!!!!.....Woof!

Mongrels rule, they're usually vastly healthier than inbred pedigrees of any sort.

Some pedigrees have become ridiculous caricatures of themselves, e.g. bulldogs and pugs that can hardly breathe. The poor things should be banned from being bred unless they cross-breed them with something with a dog-shaped head so they can be comfortable.

I have booked a day off from work tomorrow to meet some sighthounds at my house. One of them that I meet will be my new greyhound. I am so exxcited. We have prepared the house to accomadate our guests for the day, we have toys, beds and lots of treats. I am hoping one chooses us rather than us having to choose one possibly two. I am toying with the idea of getting two as greyhounds enjoy the company of other sighthounds and I would hate it to be lonely.

Bought lots of toys today, been into Pets at home and bought 3 rubber chickens and two rubber ducks all squeeky toys, a couple of fluffy toys that the hounds can rip up tomorrow at my house and a ball. I have booked a private dog field 5 mins from our house which is a 5 acre field for them to have a good run around in. £7.50 for half an hour so is great value and cant wait to see them all running. I won't sleep tonight.

You do seem like a two dogs kind of guy to me. You have two hands, it would be a waste to only hold one lead.

I'd get dogs or cats in twos, they're always much happier this way. Beyond that they get a bit unruly and pack-like, often with bullying going on. But two is nice.

I think you are right, two are on the cards as I want this greyhound to be the happiest greyhound alive. Lena has already been warning me to get just one but I think two are the way forward.
