Faulty shower - water running out of the unit, can i fix it?

go to this every other day,, first if you look the shower hose as collapsed,, this in turn as cause the safety device to blow its at the back hard to see,,, theres a silicone ball it it it just needs pushing back in that simple,,, and a new hose and head its a two min job

Everytime i see inside a electric shower unit it amazes me - firstly how lethal it looks as its hardly waterproof and secondly how the regs can be so anal elsewhere... just doesn't look safe to me!

It can get worse. Ten years ago, my brother bought a flat where the previous owner had recently had a jobbing builder ( ) fit a bathroom and leccie shower.

The power cable came from the cons. unit into a heavy duty switch. L, N and E went into this switch, but because there was an MCB above the switch, he only carried on with L and N. The earth ended in the switch, not on to the shower.

My brother was using the shower unearthed for 6 years before I discovered this little omission.
