FCU or regular plug for Dehumidifier

So for those of you interested here’s the Manufacturer’s response:

“We state to connect direclty to a non-switchable relay spur to avoid instances where the unit is inadvertently turned off, there are also regulations relating to power connections within domestic bathrooms that apply; for these reasons we suggest to avoid a standard plug connection.”

So it’s now safely wired to a regular plug and functioning without issues.

Thanks to all for your help

So as we speculated ....
there are also regulations relating to power connections within domestic bathrooms that apply; for these reasons we suggest to avoid a standard plug connection.”
That's a matter of whether/where sockets should be installed in bathrooms (which they can't, other than in pretty large bathrooms, since they have to be at least 2.5m from bath or shower) - and that shouldn't really have any influence on what a manufactuerer says about their product. If there is a compliant socket in a bathroom (at least 2.5m from bath/shower), then I don't see why a dehumidifier (or anything else) should not be plugged into it!
So it’s now safely wired to a regular plug and functioning without issues.
Good for you. I'm glad that there has been a satisfactory resolution.
