I need to fit 3 x 4 inch FD hinges

Is there a specific position reqd for building regs? I still can’t get hold of the building inspector and there doesn’t seem to be a specific reg when looking online, but I want to be sure.

Also, I have 15 x 4mm smoke intumescent brush strips, self adhesive. Presume I will have to rout out the doors as there is no groove in the door or frame? If so, top and 2 sides? What stops the smoke at the bottom of the door?

CHEERS

Top bottom and middle, why no smoke strip at bottom, Smoke rises with heat. If you ever get smoke under the door you probably will not be around to see it.

Ah, I see. Had a response from BC saying hinge top, middle, bottom. No intumescent strip, fit a 25mm slamming strip.

Ive been googling for 2 hours & am now proper confused & wont get a reply from BC until at least tomorrow. I won’t sleep now!!

It’s a standard 3 bed house, adding a loft room hence the need for fire doors.

?!
