Got an issue with above unit.

Came home the other day to find my mcb for kitchen sockets had tripped. found it to be dishwasher. The socket that it was plugged into also had black stains where trip/short had occured.

Dishwasher not used whilst out and was just plugged into socket with socket switch turned on but dishwasher not powered on with display etc.

Does this sound like a potential fault with the dishwasher units plug, lead, suppressor?

I cant even turn the dishwasher on as when go to plug unit into socket it just trips mcb before I've even turned unit power button & control panel display on!

The plug itself on dishwasher is one of those sealed plug so cant check inside for any loose wiring. The plug smells and traces of black same aa on socket.
It hasnt blown the 13a fuse as i tried it on kettle plug and it still worked.

Dishwasher is approx 6-7 years old.
