Hello all,
Is it acceptable to spur off a ring main feeding a small kitchette area with a 13A switched FCU in order to supply a small 2 zone hob. The maximum demand of the hob is 2.9kw total (1~12.5 amps) and the demand for the ring in reality is small. The FCU being located above a small worktop area and used as a means of isolation of the hob.
Alternatively, would it be acceptable to fit a plug to the hob flex and plug into a spare socket on the existing ring?
The kitchenette is not a permenant fixture as there is a _proper_ kitchen, it is providing a small cooking facility for an inlaw.
I can't see any reason why this is not ok but would appreciate some confirmation or correction as it's slightly against the normal convention.
Thanks
