Our flat roof is apparently sound, however it has a patchy covering of moss. Should we be concerned that this will shorten the life of the roof or is this OK left untreated?

I have picked at a couple of patches, but seem to remove as much of the gravel as the moss - if I should treat is it best to use an fungicide / moss killer, or should I carefully remove by hand, and then re-gravel?

Many thanks for any advice.

i guess, the fact that flat roofs are meant to be in an almost permanent state of damp (to keep the roof cool), a little bit of moss ain't gonna hurt.

Agree with Noseall, and add that my garage in a block of 6 was the last to need re felting (because) it had the most moss on it  Why It had moss and the others not I haven`t a clue, it wasn`t shaded by anything.
