Hi
Wonder if someone can give a bit of advice please.
I am replacing a 4 foot fence in my garden, and aim to replace it with a 6 foot fence.
It is going to be a straight run, approx 22 foot in total. 12 foot of that will be straight forward fencing. The remaining 10 Foot i am planning on making some double wooden gates approx 6 foot tall and 5 foot wide each.
What i'm after, is some advice on post / rail sizes. I was looking at using 4"x4" posts concreted in, and maybe 3" x 1.5" rails with vertical boards. Posts at start, 6foot, 12 foot and other side of gates.
Just wondering if posts & rails sound ok for what i am planning to do. Bit concerned about the weight of the gates, but not really sure if 4x4 posts each side of 10 foot gates would support the weight ok.
thanks for any advice
Gary
