Hi,
I am looking to build a workbench and am trying to find some 4x4s for the legs (and using 2x4s for the frame). Given the current restrictions, my easiest source of timber is Wickes, but the only similar sized timber they have is these 100mm x 100mm fence posts.

I just wanted to check that there was no reason that they wouldn't be suitable.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Should be fine as long as you or your children are not going to chew them!
They will need planing really to remove the risk of splinters.

Thanks, I will go ahead with them and plane as you suggest.

I'm not planning to chew them, but I can't vouch for the kids :D

I found Facebook market place a good source for timber and often cheaper than the sheds .
Pallets are an easy source of free timber .
