I have a 54 plate Doblo 1.9 diesel turbo. My wife phoned me saying it will not start. On taking a look I guessed the battery had packed up, so bought a new battery, connected it up...... and the symtoms were the same as a flat battery! So I then jumped it from our car, drove for about 15 mins turned the engine off then tried to restart, engine turned over about 1 rev then nothing. there where no "not charging " lights on while driving. any ideas what is wrong.

If it started OK with the leads, it looks at though you have a bad connection between the battery and where you clipped the leads on?
Look for loose and or corroded/dirty connections. Also use one of the leads as a new earth for the battery. Connect one end to the - (negative terminal) and the other end to a good clean steel part of the engine.
See how you go.

Have encountered this problem before and it turned out to be corrosion where the earth strap bolts onto the front of the gearbox. A quick clean up and normal service was resumed.
