Help,

My Fiat Marea 2.0HLX won't start. Previous day it was fine next morning dead as a DoDo. When turning the key all the sensors appear normal except the ignition warning light which flashes and makes a clicking sound. Any suggestions on waht to do. Battery was replaced 3 years ago.

Could be dead battery. Even if the battery itself is good it will go dead if there is a problem with, for example, the charging circuit.

What happens if you try to start it with jump leads?

Have tried jump starting it with a friends car - nothing - still dead (her battery wasn't as powerful though - wrong type). The ignition sensor light did flash on and off quicker though! Have put the battery on charge overnight, will try it again tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

:) Recharged the battery and it started first time.
Would you advise replacing the battery or leave it a few days?

Start looking at battery prices today.

If you have a dud batt it will probably fail to start the car tomorrow.

If you just had a power drain, e.g. interior light on, then it will be OK now you have charged it.

If it hold the charge, but runs down even if the engine is running when you have the lights on, then probably a charging fault.

Your old batt is 3 years old, was it a good brand?
