fiesta heater always hot

hie my fiesta ghia 98 has a problem hope somebody can help,when i put the heater on cold it blows out hot air even when i put the ac on.just wondered if any one has any idea what it could be and if i could do the repair myself. thanks mick.

you'll probably find that one of the cables which controls the hot/cold flap in the heater box has popped off. Have a grope around and all should become apparent

Hi to me it seems that you heater control valve has packed up.They are electrical operated are are quite common to fail.You could remove it and clean it out it might be sticking.To find it, open the bonnet and it is situated on the bulkhead in front of you.
