Thinking about filling in a side window for soundproofing. It is about 90cm wide, and has a sealed lower pane with a fanlight, with trickle vent.

So it looks OK from outside, was thinking of boarding against the window, eg. with painted ply, filling with acoustic insulation, and then plasterboarding and skimming internally. Or I might just make a frame in the reveal and screw in a piece of wood to cover, that can easuly be removed if I change my mind. Might cover with bookcase etc.

My concern is the void between the window and the board - should I keep trickle vent open a little to prevent risk of dampness, or leave all sealed up.
