Hi

Just finished fitting a replacement Ideal Standard cistern.

The cistern was set up prior to installation as per the instructions which came with it.

When it filled up, the water stopped level with a mark / line cast into the rear of the cistern.

Is this mark cast deliberately to show the correct water level ?

Cheers.

Hi Seco

Cheers for your reply.

How far below the top of the overflow pipe would you recommend the water level was set at ?

On another point the cistern is labelled as "quiet fill".

The water supply to the bottom inlet is at 3 Bar and the flow restrictor was fitted.

Inside the cistern there is a clear plastic sleeves through which the cistern fills however water also appears dripping into the cistern from other places at the top of the valve.

Once it is up to the level the water shuts off completely, but I would hardly say that it was a "quiet fill".

Any comments ?
