Hi all,

I hope you are well on this lovely bank holiday weekend.

I'm currently in the process of decorating our living room and dining room but i have come to a grinding halt due to the finish of a border.

Our ceilings have the usual coving but beneath is some pre existing plaster border about 50mm wide which we want to keep. The trouble is, the border has some chunks and bumps which i want to smooth out. I've had a go at polyfilling but its quite hard to get a neat finish.

Is it a case of perseverance and technique or is there a better product than polyfilla to fill the bumps and lumps and get a nice angle?

Photos attached. Many thanks!

Hard to tell properly from the pictures from the angle, but the bumps and lumps don't look very deep so it will be hard to get the filler to stay, there are light fine fillers that may soften them, a block and good sand paper may also help, think it will be trial and error to see what gets the best results. Best of luck
