Hi,

I have a sanded (by the previous owners) floor which is extremely draughty as the gaps have not been filled. I would like to fill the gaps between the floorboards using a combination foam filler topped off with sawdust/resin mix. I am only planning to lightly sand the floors therefore I will need sawdust from elsewhere to mix with the resin. Any suggestions on where to source pine sawdust? Is this something a timber merchant can supply or are there "specialist" suppliers?

Thanks in advance.

Any place where they saw wood professionally (workshops, sawmills, even B&Q) will collect sawdust in big bags.

I used a product that you push down between the floorboards - its a V shaped length of plastic that rests on the joists (out of sight) - pretty easy to use although with our boards I had to clean sone muck out of the gaps first

Do a google for 'stop floorboard draught gap' and you'll find it

ive done this exact job in my kitchen, liv. rm, and 2 halls. I used brown silicone, purchased from screwfix, £45 for 12 tubes. think ive used 15 tubes total and have still to do my bedroom.

for big, huge gaps beweeen boards and under skirtings i filled up with newspaper before using the silicone.

quite time consuming but looks good (the definition of the board and the brown silicone)

im sure i seen on ebay some v shapes timber strips that you hammer in and then plane off.

enjoy
