hi all - we recently had our kitchen redone and a slight replan. Some areas of floor with no tiling have now been exposed, where previously there had been units/appliances. I have bought some similar tiles (same thickness) but can see that under the original tiling there is plywood. There is no plywood in the gaps I’m looking to fill in - can I just make the adhesive thicker to make up for this extra layer?

Trying to do this project myself as it’s only a small amount of tiling in relative terms and so tradesman have quoted a lot of cash!!

Thanks in advance for any help.

If there is no traffic over the tiles, yes.
But you could buy a small bit of ply and be sure
