Hi all,

First post...

I'm preparing a front door for painting and need to fill in a letterbox as the door currently has two. I know I need to cut a block of wood to fill the slot but not sure how best to fix it, and also what sort of filler would I use to fill and blend in the inevitable gaps around the edge that won't shrink or crack? I guess it needs to be slightly flexible too...

Thanks all,

Alex

Quite difficult to advise really as front doors can take a right battering from the weather and alot of expansion and contraction can occur.

Have a look at the repair-care systems
