Hi,

As in this picture, I have removed wallpaper and plan on painting, what is the best way to fill in the small gap between the wood panel and the wall? Is it something I can just stick polyfiller in to get a seamless join?

Also one other question if anyone can help that would be great :) I have this curved panel joining the walls and ceiling Having removed the wallpaper from it I also want to paint it, but can I use masonry paint on it? It seems to be some kind of multilayer cardboard like material covered with something vinyl like? No idea what it actually is... Hoping I can just sand down the bit of vinyl that's ripped and paint it as is?

Thanks a lot!

Hello

You could use polyfilla, but personally speaking I'd use something like Decorator’s caulk. Much quicker job, no sanding! Also allows for movement, whereas polyfilla would crack.

Second pic, up to you but personally no, I'd not use masonry paint. That's for bricks, not what you have. Just fill any gaps, remove any loose paint & plaster, feather the edges and repaint with normal emulsion.
