Finally, a grown-up government.

Im not sure what point you are making

UK trade more with the EU than any other trade blok or country -so being in customs union with the EU makes the most sense
I'm stating a fact that there are plenty of customs unions between the EU an non-EU nations.

I liked the Common EEA, keep it about trade not political unity. It was the progression towards superstate, freedom of movement (beyond freedom to work) that was problematic, along with paying top price memberships for a 2nd class (non-euro) seat at the table.

100% agree. John Major should have kept us out, then we'd never have ended up needing Brexit. I'm sure we would have ended up with a sensible trading arrangement if we'd stayed on the fringe. The problem is that we went all-in, the EU is fine with outsiders, but they're like a bunny-boiler ex-girlfriend to us now - everything we do is met with hostility and trying to get revenge.

The EU needs us to suffer as a warning to the rest to keep obeying. It's mafia mob rule tactics.

We' re no longer a member. It's what we (not me) voted for

Suck it up

You are one of these people that go through life loving your own voice and never listening to anybody else........you literally dont know how ignorant you are

I hate to imagine what a relationship is like with relatives and friends of such a person...........the sort of person people cross the street to avoid

Brexit supporters are upset that the EU acts in the interests of its member nations not the UK
It doesn't. It acts in its own interests, which means that it needs to keep its members in their place and obedient.

It would be good for the EU economies to trade more openly with us. But the EU won't allow this, indeed they've explicitly stated, on the record, that they need us to suffer as a result of leaving. They'll make their own members suffer in order to punish us.

Those who are on the verge of leaving need to be taught that if you mess with the EU you'll get hurt.

It's a protectionist mafia cartel.

and that was the end of that idea.

Since its Labour scrapping the idea Notch, Nosenout and Carmen will say they never wanted it anyway.

Why do you believe right wing is correct and left wing is not.

I would be grateful if you could explain your reasoning
Its not right vs left its the playbook that a number of you in this forum adopt.

gammon,
racist,
you live in DM/Torgraph eco chamber
hornsmokers
grifter
blah blah believes

it shows lack of intellect and ability to present one's argument.

it might be why we've had so few left wing governments - ever.

The I'm right and you're a loser approach never works

Yes, the EU

No, it never has. There is always the right to veto etc

They do but it's not as easy as it was. Do you know why?

You have some proof of that?

Leave the club if you want but you need to stand on your own feet, do you mean?

It's a powerful organisation that we walked out of. It hasn't made us stronger
