Recently moved to a new build & had quick step lvt installed. The external door in utility room has metal on bottom of frame which gets a lot of condensation. The flooring fitters had put hardwood beading against door frame but it was continuously soaked so I got them to remove it. Water had got behind beading & got to wood underneath which would have rotted eventually. Their advice was to use silicone to fill the gap.
I've put some pics in but can't help feeling there must be a better way to finish it off? The beading would have been fine if it wasn't for the condensation. I can't see the silicone lasting too long.
Any ideas?
