When I overhauled the room 6 months back I removed the old wooden sill and redid the sides so the drywall joined the window edge (having read online that trims are a bodge). With nothing going on the sill area I attempted to keep it clean looking by not having one and using 'tough' bathroom paint.
What's actually happened is the plaster does its expansion/contraction thing and breaks any silicone join to the window and now it looks tired. Some sort of trim I think is required but be good to get some thoughts as it might be a step back.
Regarding the sill area, infrequent washing has worn the paint and I'm now thinking I need a sill. There is several types and they all seem to be for hiding existing wooden sills. Again any recommendations for a tidy but low maintenance finish?
And then finally you can see I'm doing work to the corner basin. I was hoping to use bathroom paint again rather than a splashback/tiles but it's not the best. Tiling here may look a bit naff though as the basin extends below the window on the left side. Any tips for this also appreciated!
Cheers, Andrew
