Fire protect extractor duct

Extractor duct going from house, through garage between ceiling joists to outside wall. BCO has mentioned fire protection, is it sufficient to board garage ceiling under duct with fireline boards, or does the duct need side protection and above?
Above is boarded garage loft space with access hatch. It’s all being done on a 2017 building regs application.
