A friend rents out a smal Victorian terraced house, in which one of the bedrooms is over a storage space that was once a garage. He has a bee in his bonnet about the fire resistance of the ceiling of the storage space. I'd assumed it was lathe and plaster, but he thinks it might be cementitious. He might be worrying needlessly, but wants to do something about it, so can anyone suggest a way that will involve the least faff? He's thinking of battening and overboarding it but I wondered if it could be coated in something.
