I have a brick built fire place I have just uncovered it looks as though it used to have a small range in.
The house was built in 1929
The chimney stack has an arch about 3ft wide which looks in good condition I would like to keep this arch and plaster around the fireplace.
Would the arch need any aditional support (metal strap etc)
 
This question has been asked, perhaps, half a dozen times since Christmas. Perhaps a little research.
