I’ve pulled out the old fireplace and replaced the concrete hearth as it was bits, now that’s done I’m unsure of how to go about getting a new hearth made up.

The issues I have is the concrete hearth doesn’t go out further than the outside of the mantle surround, outside of the concrete hearth is wooden floor board.

I would like the hearth to go about an inch wider than the surround either side, but that means it would be resting on the floor boards.

I was going to get a 30mm granite cut to fit but would this be suitable for uk regs.

The fire itself will be an old cast iron arched fire and will be used with wood and coal occasionally.
