A lot of money going up in smoke tonight round my area.

I must admit to spending £20 on fireworks at cash converters (Best value) for tomorrow night. Love a good bonfire and am having one in my garden.

Anyone else splashing out.

BTW have bangers been banned?

Bangers have not been sold for sometime now same as aerial shells, mini rockets etc.
They all fall into the erratic flight firework.
All changed with the firework regulations 1997. :(

Anyone remember Jumping Jacks ?? They're banned as well. ;) ;) ;)

I used to love the helicopters by Brocks. Banned too I presume. :(

In my youth you used to see lots of shops with the "Standard Fireworks. Brocks and others.

Those were the days.

More memories HERE

Aeroplanes were good.

Who can remember 'Squibs'? That's where the term "A damp sqib" comes from. IE - a firework that wouldn't light. "It was a damp Sqib" (Not SQUID).

3-2-1 Zero and Mighty Atom were the best bangers.

Can you remember Catherine Wheels? We used to unroll them and use them as Oxy Acetylene cutters.

Mine of Serpents? Traffic Lights, Volcanoes.

Come on Joe...sort that spelling out...haven't you had a cuppa tea yet?

Did you know also that the original effigy being burnt was the pope.

If I had the chance I'd burn the real thing

Anyway, if any of you or your kith and kin are involved in any firework displays then have fun and keep safe :)
