first fixing for basin

when first fixing the hot and cold for a pedestal basin but u don't have the basin dimensions what distance would u bring the pipes up through the floor?

Generally you would expect the basin to be no higher than 870mm, the pedestal height will be about 730mm, so you could extend the hot/cold tails to around that height and alter when the basin/pedestal dimensions are known. Also if you can bring up the tails where the isolation valves are going to be installed/accessible, you could fit the iso/service valves at that height then extend from there.
 
Sorry I mean bringing the pipes up through the floor so the fall just behind the pedestal. I am guessing about 5/6 inch but as yet we have no spec for the basin just that it will be a pedestal basin.

Can the pipework be capped beneath the floor and wait until the dimensions are available.
Not all basin are spaced the same distance from wall and not all pedestals are the same width.

Is the waste pipe in yet?
