Hi there. I have some ceilings to hang, before which I have to put insulation up I believe. What is normally used and how thick? I will actually be speaking to the bco about this but I'd like your advice too.

Many thanks.

To comply with sound insulation regulations:

Standard timber floors within dwellings should have a minimum of 100mm mineral wool with a density of 10kg/m², the floor boarding should have a minimum density of 15kg/m² and the ceiling board a minimum of 10kg/m².

Many thanks Jeds for the advice.

For the insulation I'll just have to make sure it meets these density requirements. Are the rest met by standard 20mm chipboard and standard 12mm plasterboard?

22mm T&G chipboard and 12.5 plasterboard will do it. Alternatively, 18mm Puhos weatherdeck board has a density of 17.5kg/m² so that will do as well.
