We are trying to fit a ramp/threshold between our living room floor and our sliding door track.

We bought a 3m long wooden ramp long and 20mm thick and 169mm wide. Unfortunately our floor (because of the screed) is not completely level in the middle of the sliding door so when I put the ramp down there is a small gap of 5mm at most between the floor and the ramp.

What would be the best way make our ramp steady when stepped on so it doesn’t sink when we step on it.

I believe we have 2 options:

- either add something between the ramp and the floor only in places where it’s at the lowest point to make the ramp sit on something that is level (seems like the better idea but not sure what I would use to do this) then silicon between the floor and the ramp to hide that slight level difference

- or somehow make the ramp pressed down on the floor to follow the un level floor (seems like a bad idea to me)

Some context:
We have a screed and then an underlay and finally laminate flooring on top. We don’t want to have to undo the laminate to try to level the screed and then add back the flooring as it’s a click laminate and would be too difficult to do now.

Any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much

Glue it down with plenty of Grip Fill in the channel so you get good adhesion/coverage but allow expansion, weight it down for 48 Hours and it should hold to shape.

If you can’t weigh it down, you could make some posts that are roughly the height of the ramp to the ceiling.
Add a small plate of ply/MDF to the top and bottom of the post.
This will increase the overall length so that it’s a tight fit and will spread the load.

Fit them between the ramp and ceiling while fixing down until the gripfill goes off.
