I have just had my bathroom done out with plastic panelling and removed an ugly old radiator. The wife wants to replace this with a chrome heated towel rail, the old pipes are 70cm apart and the one I've seen in Argos is 60cm wide sohow would I go abut fitting thi or is it strictly a job for a plumber. I'm a total novice when it comes to plumbing so any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

It's a relativley easy job - but that depends on how confident you are (and to some extent) on your heating set-up.

You can either lift the floor and modify the pipework so that it emerges with the correct centres for your new rail (pref option)

or

modify the pipework above floor (looks dreadful!)

out of interest - what is on the end of the pipework that used to be connected to the radiator ?
