fitting a loft ladder and loft flooring in Glasgow

Hello
I am hoping to get a loft ladder fitted and some flooring put down in my loft.
Can anybody tell me if this is a job that I could do myself as my DIY skills are limited?
Where would be the best to buy this or what companies are recommended to do the job for me?
I live in Glasgow

Thanks for the advice. I checked out Wickes as you advised, but decided to get a local Glasgow company Pryde & Sons Ltd. to fit a wooden ladder for me. I am however going to try flooring the loft myself.
