Hi,

Just wanted to know if there are any adverse side effects of fitting a radiator which is technically too big for the room?

Ie if it is in a loop, would having a big beast in this room controlled by a thermostat valve mean that this room gets to temp too quickly then the valve shuts off and prevents radiators in other rooms from getting to temp?

I only ask because I've removed a radiator which should technically have been powerful enough to heat the room but in actual fact was woefully inadequate. Going from a twin panel 1m long to a 2.6m long stelrad P+.

Cheers

Radiators are technically too big for the room on all but a few days in the year, when all the output is needed (if it was "designed" at all), so you won't have a problem.

It sounds as if the lockshield valves round the rest of the house might not be set up.
